What is Change Management?
Change Management programs are designed to ease difficult transitions and set a
company back on track towards productivity and profitability following a
downsizing or re-organization. PowerTransitions' change management programs may
include employee revitalization,
organizational development, pre-separation
planning and consulting, and executive coaching.
Employee Revitalization
Staff reductions can create challenges for management and remaining employees
because managers must accomplish the same amount of work with fewer people, and
employees fear for their job security. PowerTransitions has created a Survivors
Workshop to re-focus managers and employees on taking action and meeting new
goals.
PowerTransitions begins the Survivors Workshop by meeting with managers to
determine objectives and priorities. Next, PowerTransitions' professionals
facilitate department or workgroup meetings and guide employees through the
process of determining how their department will meet its objectives under the
new set of circumstances. A list of action items is developed along with
suggestions for improving the department. The final list of action items and
suggestions help employees feel re-empowered, while management can use them as
visible milestones for follow-up.
Organizational Development
PowerTransitions provides leadership coaching to help management clarify its
strategies, goals, and priorities after a re-org or corporate transition. We
help companies develop infrastructure that aligns needed behaviors with
business strategy. Our ultimate product is a transition plan that addresses the
biggest concerns of management and employees.
PowerTransitions then guides implementation of the plan.
Pre-Separation Planning and Consulting
Laying off an employee (or group of employees) can be a difficult task.
PowerTransitions provides consultation and planning to help managers deliver
termination messages in a respectful and legally protected way. Our
consultations include coaching on appropriate language choice, setting, and
logistics to ensure communication of the correct message to departing employees
and remaining staff.
Executive Coaching
PowerTransitions provides intensive one-on-one executive coaching sessions for
managers and executives. Coaching is appropriate when a manager or executive
assumes a new position or takes on new responsibilities; or in cases where a
company believes a valuable employee has specific issues that need improvement.
The focus of executive coaching is on performance improvement and retention (for
either the executive or members of his or her team). The aim is for the
executive to gain insights that will allow for significant shifts in behavior
or communication style. The goal is for him or her to become a more competent
leader and to gain the skills to better succeed in a changing environment.
