What is Executive Coaching?

Executive Coaching is a personalized program facilitated by a PowerTransitions consultant in conjunction with our team of specialists. The consultant works with the executive to identify his or her leadership style, values, strengths and weaknesses in order to develop a personal career plan and assist with job performance and leadership skills.

How does Executive Coaching Meet an Organization's Needs?

How does Executive Coaching Meet Individual Needs?

How does PowerTransitions design an Executive Coaching Program?

A PowerTransitions consultant meets with the executive to establish the goals of the coaching program. Then the consultant develops a customized program to meet agreed-upon objectives.

With our unique team approach, every individual meets with at least two consultants during the program. In addition, Sharon Gadberry, Ph.D., Managing Director, serves as Project Manager, providing leadership and creative input. She works with the coaching staff and conducts periodic reviews of each individual assignment. Specialists conduct the psychological and leadership assessments. Career coaches assist the executive to develop and carry out a career plan. Team coaching provides a broader perspective, more creative thinking, and better results. The collective wisdom and experience of our coaching staff is an unparalleled resource.

Through individual meetings and appropriate instruments, each individual receives a personal leadership evaluation, usually including 360 feedback. They will complete a peer, team, and self-assessment process, encompassing perceived leadership style, values, strengths, and weaknesses. This process of self-exploration takes place over a 4-8 week period.

What is the result of an Executive Coaching Program?

With the coach's assistance, the executive develops a personal career plan, including implementation strategies. This plan will include: defining goals for the future—vocational, financial, family, health, community, and hobbies; aligning career goals with the organization's mission; understanding skills and experience of most value to the organization; identifying resources necessary to implement the career plan; communicating goals and accomplishments within the organization.

How do we follow-up?

Approximately three months after implementation of the Career Plan the PowerTransitions consultant conducts several follow-up meetings. These meetings reassess, validate improvements and reinforce future plans.
